When joining Ocean Blue on a township tour during the week the highlight is to see Qolweni´s nursery school and Pre-school. The children are always happy to see new faces and get the chance to make someone smile with songs or just giving hugs to willing participants.
In South Africa we have a mix of different cultures, tracing back when people first settled in South Africa. Ocean Blue is not only a whale and dolphin watching company, we also do sea kayaking and offer township tours in the local Qolweni community. On our township tours on weekends, the guests can enjoy walking around in the township with all the children as escorts. They also love to pose for photos and to have a look at themselves afterwards.
This is the Qolweni community, based at the entrance of Plettenberg Bay. The population in Qolweni is between 6000 and 7000 people.
