Summer Activities – Whales in Plettenberg Bay this Summer!

Summer Holiday Activities in Plettenberg Bay

On our 09h30 Whale Watching trip we encountered a Humpback whale mother & calf ± 2 kilometres off Robberg beach heading towards the Point of Robberg.

This whale kept us entertained on the boat up to the point where we left her to go visit the Seal colony.

We currently have between 3000 – 4000 Seals on the colony with ± 60 pups.

After the south easterly winds blowing we are due to see lots of Brydes Whales moving through our bay.

Normally the south easterly winds brings a lot of nutrient rich water into our bay bringing with it pilchards & anchovies which feed on the plankton.
